For so many years, Phyllis and I have been approached to open a performing arts school which would not only offer training for young people in theatre arts, but also, to give students the opportunity to perform. To that end, we are delighted to announce the grand opening of the South Shore Performing Arts Academy in Oceanside and Bellmore!

Offering classes on the elementary, middle, and high school levels, students will acquire skills which can be applied to age appropriate authentic theatrical experiences. Students will gain instruction in all aspects of musical theatre including acting, vocal performance, character development and movement through the rehearsal process. All productions will be fully-staged with professionally designed scenery, props, lighting, and sound.

The students who enroll in the academy have the opportunity to come together with other children who enjoy performing. Through participation in our programs, students will make new friends, work cooperatively, improve their self esteem and communicate more effectively. But most importantly, they will have fun in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment!

Some children seem “born to entertain” while other students simply love to sing, act, and express their creativity – there is an important place for everyone in the South Shore Performing Arts Academy.
